%matplotlib widget magic?

Hey there!

I’m trying to use %matplotlib widget jupyter magic to have a nice interactive plot output.
However, it just gives me the address of the picture in memory and shows nothing.

For this to work, I installed only ipympl from available source.

Is this magic supported? Am I missing something?

Hi!

Unfortunately, matplotlib widgets are not supported at the moment. I just updated and upvoted the corresponding ticket in our tracker – will ask the team to take a look at this issue.

Thank you for the question!

Has the issue been resolved ?
I am having still the same problem

Hi Alexander,
Unfortunately, we haven’t implemented the support of the widget. I will raise awareness of the necessity

Hi,

I’m trying to use Datalore for plotting scientific data. Some plots are 2D, others are 3D. I’d like the users to be able to zoom into selected regions of 2D plots and rotate the 3D plots around axes. The plots are drawn by matplotlib.pyplot. This is relatively easy in Google Colab, but how can I achieve something similar in Datalore?

Many thanks,
Mikhail
