After entering some code and then executing, I can not go back and edit the cell.
Hmm, I would guess that you have entered the Command mode by pressing Escape, you can place the caret back into the focused block by pressing Enter or by clicking on it with the mouse.
Please attach a screencast illustrating the issue if I am wrong.
